Admissions

Our admissions process follows our school calendar. In August we begin scheduling our fall tours for families interested in the following school year. All applications received in the fall go into the same pool. We do not have a first-come, first-serve policy. Looking at the entire pool of applicants allows us to balance age, gender, diversity, and schedule.

In January we notify families of available slots for the fall. Families who were not offered a slot are kept on the waitlist. The Monteverde School employs an anti-bias curriculum. We welcome children from non-traditional families. We encourage diversity of race, religion, language, physical differences, and ethnic origin.

Tuition Equity

At our school, we strongly believe in fostering socio-economic diversity and ensuring that every child has access to quality education. We work closely with families to assess their individual circumstances and provide assistance accordingly. By offering financial aid, we aim to remove barriers and ensure that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, benefits from our preschool's enriching educational experience.

We understand that in the Bay Area, income disparity is high and is only increasing. The Tuition Equity Fund was established to ensure that all families can access Monteverde, regardless of their financial situation. Much of our fundraising and all of our private donations go to support our Tuition Equity Fund.

This provides tuition on a sliding scale for families that make under $125,000 annually.

Since admissions are done on a need-blind basis financial aid is applied for once your family has been offered a spot. We typically give some assistance to 15-20% of our families.

Tuition

We follow a year-round schedule which begins in August and runs through July. Tuition is divided into equal payments and, therefore, does not vary with the number of school days in a month. Payment is due the 1st of each month and a late fee will be added after the 15th of each month.
